Back to Uni + 1st Project

So I’m back at Uni now after a nice long break. What this means will be that I will have a constent stream of work I will be uploading over the next few months. It’s been nice getting back into the creative swing of things and the first project this year has eased me back into design.

The first project was split up into three stages all involving the barbican art gallery. The first stage was to recreate a Barbican leaflet which was no problems at all but was a good refreasher back into using indesign. Stage 2 was a bit more creative and we were tasked to recreate the leaflet we just copied with our own design. This was alot more fun then the first stage and really got me back into my mind back into design mode. Below is what i came up with and I am quite pleased with the results. The last stage of this project was to take one of the events in the leaflet and to create an intresting design in any format you wanted. I decided I wanted to create like a screen printed design but in the end due to time restrictions i decided to use the design I ment for screen print but to turn it into a poster. Here below is what i came up with.

Brit Icons

A Short Title sequence I made for a Project on British culture at uni. I tried to create an animation using a mixture of graphic and photographic elements and I do feel it turned out quite well. See what you think.

While looking around for some inspiration for my new after effects project, I came across this video that has just wowed me in how well it has been made and how good it looks. I really hope one day i gain the skills to create somthing this amazing.

Go Up: Some more logo designs

Just started my new project in motion graphics this week and had  a few minutes spare so I thought I would try to come up with some more logo designs. This came after I had a brain wave of ideas that I didn’t need to include the word “up” in my logo design because that is what the arrow symbolizes. I think these ideas create a stronger brand image with the potential to lose the type and just keep the symbol a little like Nike and Apple but that is still a way off yet ;)

Go Up

While completing my last project at uni I have been working on a little side project. It’s called Go Up. The idea behind it is that it could be a future company or identity i could use in the future. After reading about Johnny Cupcakes and seeing his new store open in Carnaby street i fel inspired to go back and try again into looking for an identy for the future.

Constructivist Poster

Over the last few weeks in uni I have been creating a book about the history of construcivism. From writing it, laying it out and now I have designed a poster for it. I feel the poster really captures the feel of the time without using the idea of geometric shapes.
